Welcome to Sarah’s Prompt Challenge! I know, I know, I may need to refine the title. My first attempts were “fab”, “fave”, and “fun” with “-ruary” stuck on, which felt equal parts amusing and painful. I digress.
What is this?
I’m glad you asked! In the spirit of a more creative February, I am making my own prompt challenge. Feel free to read (or not), do a similar challenge, copy my prompts, etc.! I decided to do a freestyle challenge to kick off this season.
What will you post?
Another great question—I have settled on misc. creative lists related to each theme! In my first few drafts, here are some recurring features:
- Book recs
- Travel memories
- Whimsical word associations
- Musical recs
- Life updates
- Doodles or photos?
- Others!
How often?
It is freestyle, but I’ll aim to post every two days or so! Depending on what else is going on, I may crosspost with Instagram, add a doodle later, etc.
Why?
As I’ll mention more later, I am currently transitioning jobs, and I would love to have an excuse to write more and think creative thoughts! I realize this project is a bit eclectic. However, I had a freeing thought: if it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, that is okay. I hope you will stick around—(I think it will be fun!)—but if I psych myself up to a strategic, SEO-perfect blog for leisure, I simply won’t write.
I’ve done goal-driven challenges before, like National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), with mixed results. If a recruiter stumbles onto this, I’m happy to juggle multiple priorities! However, this one is ultimately for fun. Sometimes it is nice to have something more relaxed.
Thus, please feel welcome to stay tuned and enjoy the ride!
